Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and MAMAintheKitchen!
I have always believed that Taste = Memory. Food has an incredible way of bringing back cherished moments, reconnecting us with our roots, and creating new memories with loved ones. Cooking has always been a part of my life, passed down from my grandmother to my mother, and now to me. Watching my little daughter take an interest in cooking makes me realize how deeply this tradition is woven into our family—it truly is the taste of inheritance.
My love for cooking began in my childhood, learning from my mother as she prepared meals that filled our home with warmth. I saw firsthand how simple ingredients could transform into something magical—flavours that told a story, nourished our family, and strengthened our bonds.
I was born in Toronto but grew up in Hong Kong, where I started my own family. In 2016, I shared my passion for food beyond just family gatherings. I created my first social media account on Facebook to document my recipes and the stories behind them.
I realized that if I missed certain dishes from my childhood, others probably feel the same way. My goal was simple: to help people create delicious, memory-filled meals in just 15-20 minutes, without the long hours of preparation. Life gets busy, and as more people move away from home, food becomes a powerful way to stay connected to our heritage and loved ones.
In 2020, my journey took a new turn when my family and I moved back to Canada, settling in Vancouver. Being away from Hong Kong made me long for the comforting flavours of home, so I started recreating those dishes from memory. This inspired me to take my passion a step further.
In 2021, I decided to build something more—to create a way for people from all backgrounds to experience the taste of home-cooked meals, no matter where they were. That vision led to MAMAintheKitchen.
In 2022, I officially launched MAMA’s home-style flavour sauce, crafted to bring warmth, nostalgia, and love into every dish. My hope is that each bottle carries a story, a tradition, and a reminder that home is never too far away.
Looking ahead to 2025, my dream is to expand MAMA’s mission by collaborating with other chefs that share the same mission I have, making these flavours even more accessible. I want to continue sharing the taste of home with more people, one dish at a time.
